I posted earlier this year the before and after photos of our Master Bedroom, and since then, I have finished two more projects in there...
First, I had a dust skirt made for the bed, which is a good thing since I am a total packrat and keep LOTS of junk under every bed in the house. For me, it is just another great hidden storage area!
Just an example!
Since our bedroom can be seen easily from the Family Room/Kitchen areas, I really needed this bedskirt to hide all of our stuff!
As always, I kept it simple with a white linen fabric (I get the strange feeling that someday EVERYTHING in my home may be covered in white linen fabric- HELP!!)
Regardless, I love the way it turned out! Simple, but pretty!
One of my favorite new things in the bedroom is this great burlap "bonne nuit" pillow- again, simple but so pretty.
So my next project was to makeover a small chest that we were utilizing since our large one did not fit in the new room... here's a "before" photo:
The lighter pine finish just wasn't working with our darker finished bedroom furniture, so I decided to paint it black and it turned out great!
Now it matches the older black and gold mirror, and it looks nicer with the darker wood bedroom pieces- I actually like mixing finishes and styles for a more "collected" look!
With the new additions of the black chest and dust skirt, I feel like we are done (for now!!) in the Master Bedroom...
... until I decide to re-do everything some day!
Coming up, I plan on featuring the Guest Bedroom- I recently painted the headboard and have been working on some new artwork in there.
