So this week's fun family dinner is no big suprise...we celebrated Valentine's day together with a festive and yummy meal. (Mom and Dad have a babysitter for this weekend to go on our "official" Valentine's date). Here's what we did:
The Table-
I set the table with a big red tablecloth and my basic white plates...
The centerpiece of the table was our scrumptious Valentines cupcakes on a pedastal with a dome cover. I also used a sprinkling of dollar store silk rose petals and mixed in a variety of glass votive candles and candlesticks for some "sparkle".
I also used two small "soup can" arrangements of white roses...I love using old soup cans for vases...they are the perfect height for a small grouping of flowers, not to mention VERY affordable!
Above the centerpiece, I hung paper heart cut-outs from the chandelier for a fun, festive look...again, super simple and inexpensive- but looks great!
At each person's place, nestled in colorful tissue paper inside a mini-metal pail, I placed a sweet suprise...
The Food-
In honor of Valentine's Day, I fixed my husband's favorite Pesto Pasta with Chicken and Sundried Tomatoes, luckliy, the girls love it too, so we all had a great meal. (sorry, no photos of the pasta) After our meal, we each FINALLY got to eat our cupcakes...it's so hard to be patient and wait when you have to stare at them throughout the entire meal at the center of the table!!!
The Fun-
I had planned on everyone going around the table and sharing something they LOVE about each other, but we have had a very busy and eventful week, so we just had a great time chatting and catching up.
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day too!

Once again, your table is lovely and I really like that the theme is carried all the way through the dinner, from start to finish. your girls are so blessed to be involved in making such wonderful memories.

Lovely. So nice that if it's for me, I'd rather look at it the whole time than eat it.
