For this week's Fun Family Dinner, we celebrated the Super Bowl. Actually, we had plans on Sunday night with friends, so we "re-enacted" the Super Bowl on Tuesday night by watching a little of the game (which we taped on our DVR) and fixing a big pot of our favorite soup- Taco Chili! Here's what we did:
The Table-
I set the table with a large remnant of green fabric (to simulate a football field). We used brown woven chargers, white plates, bowls and napkins and simple everyday glasses.
For the "centerpiece" I used a pom pom (in the 49er's colors) and a football, along with a big pot of chili and a woven tray with all the yummy toppings.
The Food-
I called this dinner "souper" because what goes better together than football and chili!? My girls had never tried chili before (have I ever mentioned how PICKY they are?), so Taco Chili was a great way to get them to try it since Tacos are one of their favorite meals!!! Guess what- they LOVED it...I guess anything topped with melted cheese and Fritos corn chips can't be too bad for a kid- right?
I also "bribed" them with these delicious homemade cupcakes...bribery almost always works!
The Fun-
Besides learning to eat a yummy new food, we had fun watching the game and playing "Super Bowl Bingo", a great little game I downloaded off the internet!
The Bingo game was a hit and really kept the girls interested in the game, although I think they enjoyed the commericals better- to be honest, don't we all!?

So much fun!!! I'm getting some great ideas for fun meals from you and I love how you give the details. Fun, yet simple! Thanks for sharing!
