So we have three bedrooms upstairs and the smallest one we are using for our Guest Room. We are so thankful to have a dedicated Guest Room, since we have a lot of overnight GUESTS! Here are the before photos:
Again, very plain- and difficult to furnish because of all the windows and doors on every wall- but we did our best...
I left the walls unpainted in here- I liked the creamy color- but used our old Master Bedroom silk plaid draperies and fabric on the windows and dust skirt. I absolutely LOVE a blue and white bedroom!
I like to set out a guest basket full of fresh linens and treats whenever I can.
I used 3 of my drapery panels and had the custom gathered dust skirt made from the leftover panels.
Also in here, I was able to use one of my favorite art pieces over the bed- a print of children playing on the beach!
I love the pitcher of lavender on the dresser...
This wall with the vintage white vanity is a little lacking...I need to find some artwork, maybe a small lamp and a stool for the vanity to finish it off!
Another project in here is the headboard, which is: 1. too short 2. too dark and 3. very ugly! I thought about painting it and raising it up on risers, or someone even mentioned upholstering it! Let me know your thoughts...

Savvy Southern Style's Wow Us Wednesday

I would definitely paint the bed!!! The shape of the bed complements the shape of the mirror on the vanity. I would raise the headboard allowing it to peak over the pillows more. I LOVE your style and vision for your home!!! I look forward to seeing your decorating ideas each week. I have implemented the little white starfish all through my house since I found your website --- some are subtle but other places they are more stated! I love the simplicity of each one and how they add just the right touch! You have an awesome blog!!! You are blessed in so many ways and an inspiration to us all! :)

Hi! I found your blog from an older post on Southern Hospitality. I love coastal decor, so am always on the lookout for a new place for ideas. I absolutely love this gorgeous silk check fabric, and think you did a great job repurposing former drapery panels into a bedskirt. The drapes are beautiful too, though if I might offer one suggestion: The curtain rod is too skimpy for such nice panels and such a large check. A more substantial rod would do them justice. Also, an idea for something to finish off your vanity area might be some blue & white plates on the wall. It would pull the color across the room from your beautiful drapes. Looking forward to seeing more of your coastal inspiration!
