Makeover Monday: Master Bedroom Progress and Projects...

I want to share with you a few photos of the Master Bedroom before we moved in.  First, I actually liked the paint color, so that we kept, along with the ceiling fan...

 

 The room is long and narrow, but has good light with lots of windows and French doors leading to the patio.

 

Here are some "after photos" with our furniture and furnishings... (For those of you following this blog for a while, don't panic- the beautiful blue and white checkered silk draperies and dust skirt have been relocated upstairs to our new Guest Bedroom!) We decided to go more neutral in here with simple white bedding and white drapery panels...you know me, simple and white seem to be a common theme!  I just like the uncluttered look.

 Note our "sleepy" dog Beau next to the bed.  

One thing on my list is a new dust skirt for the bed.   So please excuse all those storage boxes under the bed!!! (Am I the only one who stashes things under all my beds?)

 One new purchase was the burlap pillow that reads "bonne nuit"- I have always loved it, and it looks great in the new bedroom.

 I have re-used the trio of antiques seashell prints- these have graced the wall above this bed in our last four houses- they always look nice hung in an arched shape over the bed. 

OK, now for my LEAST favorite wall in this room...we had a large double dresser and mirror that would not work in the new room, and so now we need a smaller sized chest and mirror.  All I had was this old pine one (from my first apartment when I was single) so we have placed it there for now, but I hope to relocate a nicer one OR paint this old one black to flow better with the rest of the room...any ideas or thoughts?

Beautiful! Your new pillow is just perfect for your bed! I agree with you, a black dresser would look great in your room and tie in nicely with the black frames on your seashell prints.

I think the chest painted black would fit in very nicely, too. Your new Burlap Pillow is what I LOVE!! I'd love to know where you found it. Kristy, I'm going to say it again, Girl, I love your style!!

Thanks for your comment, Susan ...the burlap pillow is from Ballard Designs. It reverses to say bonjour...I love it too.

Nicely done! The room is really spacious, and you knew what to do with it. I love those antiques on the wall and the lamps as well! The room already looks so classy! Can’t wait to see the final outcome.
