My youngest daughter's room has had a dramatic transformation since we moved in, here are some before photos:
Very vanilla and bland! So my 7 year old chose a paint color (get ready...it's a little BRIGHT!) but it turned out cute I think...
Hannah chose a turquoise blue for the walls- her bedding is black and white with accents of pink and other bright colors.
Fitting both twin beds and a nightstand was a little tight in this small room, but we made it!
This pink ruffle pillow is a favorite...
The headboards are vintage with a distressed finish I found them on Anna Maria Island at a thrift shop...so cute on the turquoise wall.
Hannah is my little artist, so all of the artwork (with one exception) are her original paintings and drawings, this one over the bed is a painting she did of our dog, Beau.
This is her "gallery wall" where we have hung other framed pieces of art above the wall with her vintage white dresser...we need to "tidy up" this area don't you think?
While "mom" added a little coastal touch to her nightstand and would LOVE to totally "coastal-ize" her entire room- (wouldn't it be fabulous with all that turquoise and white!?) this is HANNAH'S room, so we will keep it the way SHE likes it! I think children's rooms should reflect the style and interests of the child who lives there.
Here's her cute hooks with brightly painted fish and all her scarves and bags...soo cute! Well, her room has turned out well so far, I still need to address her windows-
I am on the lookout for valance/scarf ideas, so let me know if anyone has any suggestions!

Adorable!
Will Hannah receive patrons for her art?
Love the room, What about taking a set of the black patterned sheets on the beds, line with the heavier fabric (To give substance) and use fushia for pull backs. To make it a little more 'girly' you could ruffle the bottom of the curtains. Would be fun if Hannah would paint on a piece of silk. Think scarf. Turn that into a pillow for the beds. Whatever you do, you've done a wonderful job and I'm sure your choice for the drapes will be lovely.

I love Hannah's room! The bright turquoise walls are the perfect backdrop for the white furniture and colourful art & accents. So great that you framed Hannah's artwork to display in her room :-)
I think I'd do one box valance that goes across both windows. Maybe in white, with strips of pink & black grosgrain ribbon along the edges to dress it up and tie in with the bedding.

What a cute room, and what 7 year old wouldn't want that room? Love the bright walls!
