Coastal Blues and Holiday Decorating Inspiration

So over the years, I have often admired the "coastal blue" holiday color scheme of so many homes, here are a few of my favorites...

 

 

Completely Coastal

So this year, I decided to go for it! I decided to go with "coastal blues" for the holidays. Since my house is mostly neutral, and I have a large assortment of colorful accent pillows, and table linens, the only thing I had to purchase were a few inexpensive blue ornaments and ribbons.  I pulled out my light blue Pottery Barn pillow covers and napkins, added my new blue ornaments and ribbons and viola- a totally new look 
(last year was red and white!)  

Since I believe the Christmas tree is the focal point of all holiday decorations, here are some photos of our tree...

(You may have noticed that the bottom of our tree is much LESS decorated than the top...and this is due to the fact that our 90 pound yellow lab's tail has knocked most of the lower ornaments off by now!  We are in the process of relocating our most valuable/breakable ornaments higher up on the tree!

I am LOVING our new, coastal blue Christmas this year and can't wait to share more photos from all around the cottage next week!

I love decorating with blue and white ornaments - your tree looks like mine, except that mine isn't a real tree, and mine doesn't have starfish (I need to re-think that!!)
