So after moving and renovating and decorating for a few weeks, it's time to take a break and show you all how the new house is coming along. Here are some before and after photos from the entry...
Before
After- We refinished the light oak floors to a dark walnut, removed the chrome light fixtures, which I plan on replacing with new light fixtures someday, but for now, my lamp provides adequate lighting for the entry.
After...
I love that you can look from the front door out the back windows and doors and onto our backyard and the water...I think this gives the home a nice open, sunny feel.
Beau feels right at home in the new cottage! His favorite spot is right by the front door watching the world go by and waiting for Greg to come home.
I used my skirted table with mirrored top here, since it is adjacent to the dining room and it is filled with all my scrapbook/crafting supplies. I am having a new custom skirt made that will look nicer.
Our vintage sailboat artwork, lamp, a few hurricane vases, and some tall branches finish off the entry table giving it a welcoming, coastal feel. I love having a large table like this that can be changed seasonally in the entry and look forward to updating it regularly...like in a week or so for Christmas!

Looking beautiful! We just moved this summer and it takes awhile!

I love your new entry, and I definitely prefer the darker wood! How does your dog handle the hardwood floors? We are thinking of replacing our carpet with wood, but weren't sure how it would last with a German Shepherd in the house, so we are looking at getting Pergo laminate fake hardwood.
Your home is gorgeous! I bet you are looking forward to celebrating your first Christmas in your new home!

The darker floors are holding up well with our dog, although his blonde hair is everywhere! We must Swiffer twice a day...ha! We use to have Pergo at our old house, I liked that a lot too. Thanks so much for visiting Starfish Cottage... Good luck to you.
