The other night, I was feeling lazy and not up to cooking, so we ordered a takeout pizza...but just because it's takeout, doesn't mean we can't enjoy a nice table! It took no special flowers or fancy centerpiece-
I simply made our pizza the centerpiece along with some fresh-from-the-market vine ripened tomates and 2 of my potted basil plants- instant tablescape! Basic white everyday plates, napkins and glasses on a simple tablecloth look great for this casual table.
Don't you just adore the classic combination of tomatoes and basil? Whether it's pizza, pasta, bruschetta, caprese salad- you name it- I LOVE it!
I just love to take something ORDINARY and try to make it EXTRAORDINARY, even takeout can be beautiful!

So simple but so good! You managed to turn a takeout pizza (looks delicious!) into a tablescape. I love having fresh basil but I have too much! I thought I would make pesto until I saw the price of pine nuts!

Now THAT'S a great makeshift, spur-of-the-moment centerpiece!!! Why not let the food take center stage? It makes perfect sense! The bright red tomatoes is perfect alonside the pale green of the fragrant basil...perfect! Spot on!

Love your tablescape!
I can't remember the last time we ordered take-out pizza. If we are not in the mood for cooking, but feel like pizza, we'll just grab one out of the freezer, and I'm afraid we just end up eating it while sitting on the couch!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Kristy, Your the only one I know that can make a take-out pizza look beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this at the Open House party.
Hugs,
