Oh how I love me a fabulous seashell-encrusted mirror!
There are some REALLY gorgeous and REALLY expensive ones out there.

They didn't look all that complicated to make, so I decided to try. I found a large $10 mirror at my local thrift store and bought a couple bags of all-white shells. I then dug out my trusty hot glue gun and got to work in my garage.
Several glue sticks and hours later, I emerged with this beauty...not bad for my first try!
top, At the I centered a simple white starfish to give it some interest.
I also "lined" the inside of the frame with a single row of tiny shells and artfully arranged shells in the corners for added interest.
Not bad for a $10 mirror and a couple bags of shells...I'm DYING to make another one with a thicker frame and different shells. This one will have to do for now!
...make everyday special...kristy

Wow! That looks amazing & you made it sound so simple (although I'm sure if I tried this the results would be less than stunning!). Your dining room is very pretty too!

I've got to tell my cousin in Bonita Springs about your blog. She would love everything you've done. They used to have a beach house in Va. that was fabulous and she had made a shell mirror very similar to the one you made for her kitchen and had shells in a decorative glass jar. Having a Sr. moment right now, can't think of name of that jar.
