It's officially one of my favorite times of the year...strawberry season! We live not far from Plant City, Florida which is FAMOUS for their wonderful berries, and this time of year the most BEAUTIFUL berries hit the markets, which always inspire me to make homemade shortcakes...YUM! The only thing better than fresh strawberries IN SEASON, is picking them yourself- which we do.
So go pick up a pint of Plant City Strawberries and enjoy...don't forget the whipped cream!

My current cottage is a non-descript rental house on the shores of Tampa Bay...it has been comfortable, affordable and in a terrific neighborhood, but I am dreaming of a older cottage with TONS of character and charm. Like this cottage in Key West...
Don't you love the white picket fence and the palm trees? The large front porch is perfect for sipping a cold drink on a hot Florida afternoon. While my "current cottage" is decorated on the inside with lots of Coastal elements, we are starting to search for a cottage with this kind of charm and character.
The Sailboat...
It all started with a model sailboat I purchased 10 years ago. I was living and working in land-locked Atlanta, GA at the time and was really missing family and the Florida lifestyle. I happened upon this sailboat and had to buy it. I had no where to put it in my small townhouse, but KNEW I would have a coastal home by the water someday! Now it sits atop my bookshelves in my study...I still love it many years later...it reminds me everyday of the magical, healing quality of the ocean!
